Orders of Self

The first two pdf files in this folder are a chart and a description of the Orders of Self.  This is a map of the development of the proximate Self through the stages of one's life.  This is the basic developmental framework that we use in the practice of Creative Conflict Resolution.

The second two files are related to the different styles that we each use to address the conflicts in our lives.  We must stress here that by conflict we mean the condition of the relationship, not the actions we take to address the conflict.  A conflict exists whenever others are not as we want them to be or we are not as they would have us be.  At least that is how conflicts appear at first and second order and into third order.  [The description of the chart of Conflict Resolution Styles is in development.  But here is the chart.]

In simplified form we have a poster of the Orders of Self and one of the Conflict Resolution Styles.

More recently (September 2006) I have written a reflection on the workshop that I did at the 15th Annual IFS Conference.  It is entitled "What is Self?"
